Pattern #4

This image is very special to me, and I can't wait to get it up on my wall. While the capturing of this image was relatively straight-foward (the composition came together fairly well), the conversion to B/W was a bit more challenging. I finally used the Photoshop actions of 'DigiDan' to pull out just the right feeling I was looking for. The final product is exactly as I envisioned, and just where I wanted to go with this image.

The eye truly has no resting place here - the striations take the eye around and around, first from the bright ledge on the right, then around to the left to the shadows near the back. A brief respite on the horizontal layer at the top of the distant wall...then around again. It almost makes you tired to look at it for too long...

other sizes: small medium original auto

Actually, you are right. My eyeballs keep rolling around, and around, and around, and around....

Oh - I really like this one. The use of monochrome here accentuates the curves and forms. One could gaze at this photograph indefinetly.
