I returned to the 'Wave' in the Coyote Buttes area of northern Arizona on August 17. Heavy rains fell the night before and the road was impassable, so I had to park several miles from the trailhead. Because of the long hike in, and the clouds which developed by early afternoon, I was restricted to shooting at mid-day. The heat and wind made the shooting additionally difficult. I found myself using a plastic bag to place over my camera whenever I had it out to shoot - there was so much dust and sand blowing around in the 30 mph winds...

Here's a selection of the images from this trip. Although I couldn't shoot during my favorite times for this location (sunrise, mid-morning and late afternoon), I'm pleased with the new areas I found while hiking in the Coyote Buttes, and will return another day to shoot again when the weather is more cooperative!
