We can now see our route to the top. Just between the sheer faces of the Coconino Sandstone near the top of the picture there are a series of switchbacks leading to the top. It was about here that I realized our great adventure was about over. Yes, there were over four miles to go and several thousand feet of elevation to climb but we had come a long ways through some of the most spectacular scenery on earth with total strangers who had become friends.
