The next morning was the coldest of our trip - 28 degrees F with ice in the water jug and frost on the tent. We were shortly underway and stopped briefly at this mirror lake for a photo. We had planned to cross central Nevada on Hwy 6 and reach Great Basin National Park by nightfall. We were overly ambitious in our travel planning and about 4:00 PM decided instead to stop at a U.S. Forest Service campground just west of Ely, NV. An early start brought us to our next stop mid-morning.
