Crandall Peak trail - May 28, 2005

Two Hippos from the MuddyOval.com herd made the Crandall Peak Trail run on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Dan (Viper-25) with friend friend Leia and cousin Cris and Nancy and I met in Angels Camp, CA at 9:00AM. The trail begins near Vallecito at about 1000 ft elevation and ends near Strawberry at nearly 6000 ft. Though rocky in spots, the trail is very mild, well suited for a stock Hippo. The weather was in the mid 70s and partly sunny. There was no snow on the trail at all.

Many thanks to Joe for suggesting the Highway 4 area and to Brian (bcm79) for his suggestions and photos from an earlier run. It was a great day!!
