This young male hummer is showing off the first few iridescent gorget feathers that have developed just before leaving to migrate south. He is quite disturbed with a bumble bee that is swarming around the feeder, attempting to enjoy some of the sweet syrup. Hummers are very territorial and protective of their feeder and will ward off insects and other hummers who invade their "space".
