Plaque on the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche

To the memory of Wilhelm I, King of Prussia and German Kaiser, the first Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church was built in the years 1891-1895 during the reign of Kaiser Wilhelm II from donations of the entire German people. During the Second World War, in the night of 23 November 1943, it was destroyed during an air raid. The tower of the old church shall recall the judgement of God that came over our people in the years of the war.
