Brassolaeliacattleya Lake Murray 'Mendenhall'

Smithsonian, Washington DC

This hybrid Cattleya is from the Carter and Holmes line of breeding, this one was particularly nice.
I took a little license here from a lesson by Vincent Versace "Lighting in Photoshop",
getting the lighting right without all the background was difficult in the greenhouse,
so I used some "dodging and burning" in PS to bring out the true depth of this very nice cattleya.

I have not changed the color or materialy changed the bloom just worked
the highlights and shadows.

I added a couple of new shots to the GAPW Zion gallery that I really liked:

Zion

Nikon D200 ,Nikkor 105mm f/2.8D AF Micro
1/60s f/5.6 at 105.0mm iso200 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto
