Plectrelminthus caudatus

Washington DC

Wishing I was in Long Island with the CPPS crowd, but things being what they
are I'm trying to make lemonade.
I've been asked to photograph at the next monthly American Orchid Society's DC judging
by their professional photographer. The rules are a little stricter than this old PS cripple
is used too (i.e. no retouching, cropping, etc). So today I went up and shot some practice
shots to test my lighting and camera setup.
This unique orchid was in bloom and I used a very light flash with some ferns as background.
A couple more shots to come.

Nice job with the camera settings Bryan. Wonderful soft light and nice saturation of the colors. Excellent image - it does kind of look like a fish hook. V
