Nikon D5 camera

I'm selling 3 Nikon D5 cameras; each as a separate sale. All 3 are XQD models. Two were purchased brand new from Downtown Camera, an authorized Nikon Canada dealer. The third D5, with the highest shutter count, (camera #3) is a Nikon USA camera. Each camera comes with one or two copies of the purchase receipt.

Included with each camera is EVERYTHING you get with a brand new camera, including the box, still in pristine condition, the charger (never used) and camera strap (never been used), the original genuine Nikon EN-EL18a battery and battery cap, the English and French manuals, and the Nikon Canada warranty card. The Nikon USA camera has an English and a Spanish manual and Nikon USA warranty card.

If you're curious about exactly comes with each camera:
MH-26a Battery Charger
USB Cable Clip
HDMI Cable Clip
UC-E22 USB Cable
AN-DC15 Strap
DK-27 Eyepiece Adapter
DK-17F Fluorine-Coated Finder Eyepiece
BF-1B Body Cap
BS-3 Accessory Shoe Cover
BL-6 Battery Chamber Cover
Network Guide

Two of the D5s (camera #1 and #2) are from a Nikon Canada authorized retailer, so you can get service on them, from Nikon Canada, if you ever need it (but you probably won't need service). And I'd be happy to help you get service, from Nikon Canada or from where I bought the cameras (Downtown Camera, Toronto). The third D5, (camera #3), I bought from Calagaz Photo in Florida. Nikon USA should service this camera if you ever need repair.

Each camera for sale separately. All 3 cameras work perfectly. Each camera has a very subtle 1 or 2 or 3 written in black sharpie on the top of the camera (barely noticeable.) And, because I used these cameras in busy downtown areas, I thought they might be slightly less attractive to thieves if I blacked out the D5 and Nikon that were in white on the front of the cameras. I covered these over with black sharpie. See the last 3 photos.

All 3 cameras are clean, and I don't think there is a scratch on them anywhere. I took photos of one of the cameras, all sides, but the other two are in equally as good a condition.

Shutter counts and prices are:
D5 #1 - 411,254 - $2,100
D5 #2 - 98,764 - $2,900
D5 #3 - 554,796 - $1,900

Prices are firm. If you want one for the price I've listed, please contact me with a Kijiji message.

Two of the batteries have zero clicks on the battery life meter, showing up as new batteries. One shows one click.

Please see my other ads. I'm also selling 3 D6s, a D4, two D850's, etc, and I'm selling 6 EN-EL18c and b batteries, and lots of CFExpress and XQD memory cards and card readers.

I'm completely getting out of photography, but one thing you should know is that if I was going to continue taking photos - I would keep at least one D5, if I didn't have D6's, because the D5 has a FULL STOP advantage over the Z9 or Z8 in shooting in low light conditions (with low noise in the images) (at dawn or dusk, or in doors in poor light.)

I've used both the Z9 and D5 (and D6), and the photos from the D5s are still useful long after photos from the Z9 TURN TO MUSH - when the light is poor. Some say you can post process Z9 or Z8 photos to get them close to the D5 - but Z9 photos just become useless at light levels when the D5 is still providing useable images.

And for those of you wondering about the D6 vs. the D5: the D6 shoots at 14 fps, and still autofocuses between shots, whereas the D5 only shoots 12 fps. And I like the AF system on the D6 a little better. The AF sensors are brighter in the D6 viewfinder, and a bunch of red dots show up in 3D AF Mode showing you what the camera is focusing on, rather than just one on the D5. The D6 may be slightly smarter at white balance and exposure. Slightly.

And for those of you who worry about high shutter counts on a pro-level Nikon camera: you are worrying about nothing. I've taken about 11 million photos over 20 years with my Nikon cameras (back to the Nikon D70, D2x, D2hs, D3, D300, etc), and I can tell you with an expertise generated from one of a kind experience that the average Nikon shutter on a D3 or D4 or D5 camera will fail at about double the number that Nikon says their shutters are 'tested to.'

Nikon says the shutter on the D5 is 'tested to' 400,000 shots, and I am certain that the average shutter will fail somewhere close to 800,000 shots. A few D5's will need a new shutter before 800,000, but some D5's have shot over a million shots on the original shutters. I know multiple people with a D5 that has taken over a million shots with the original shutter, and the camera is still going strong.

The three D5's I'm selling have their original shutters. I've had several previous cameras like the D3, etc, that shot over a million shots and kept going after a relatively inexpensive replacement of the shutter ($300 or $400, with the camera back in less than 2 weeks.)

And for those of you who are still worrying: "But the camera has a high shutter count" - I'm pretty sure my D5's will outlast you.

And I've got 3 types of hot shoe covers available for you to choose from. You may have the original Nikon one, made of rubber, or a low profile plastic one, or a hot shoe cover with a built in level. See the last photo.
