This was the first painting I viewed during our visit.
It is very poignant that this was the first painting I saw at the museum.

As a proud son of an immigrant and with three of my four grandparents being immigrants,
I believe in the courage my ancestors showed by leaving their country for the hope and dreams of America.

We must remember that we are a society of immigrants.
