The scent of Lysol and wax, the crying of babies, a cheerful bather and, for sharp ears,
the conversation in the consultation room ... The Groene Kruiszorg of the 1950s is alive and
well here. Less than 100 years ago, babies, children and adults die every day from diseases that
are now rare. That time is over is due to "Father" Willem Drees and his four cabinets that
strongly stimulate preventive health care. And of course the unbridled commitment of
the Green Cross sisters. They nurs the sick at home, provide information and help young parents
to keep their children healthy. In 1998, this Kruisgebouw was cut into thirty large pieces and
put together again as a kit. Posted here in 1998.
