--- The museum gives a picture of life in the Netherlands through the ages. Living, working, recreation and traditions of the Dutch are portrayed on the basis of mostly relocated original buildings such as
--- various types of windmills, houses, farms, places of worship and workshops. In a number of buildings, museum employees, dressed as the original inhabitants, receive visitors. Numerous utensils,
--- old crafts and costumes are also on display. Craftsmen also give demonstrations of their skills. Almost daily, among others, a miller, a blacksmith, a printer, a paper maker and a conductor are at work.
--- Special activities are often organized during weekends, such as: barrel organ day, harvesting rye, threshing grain, plowing with horses and an old-fashioned children's fair.
