Today, even though delayed by the U.S. Government shutdown, we celebrated the 75th year of WNR's existence. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of Thomas Z. Atkenson the "People" have a place in North Alabama to view and enjoy the numerous wild animals, wild plants, and other wild species.

Today we celebrated the day with Joe Wiegand (Theodore Roosevelt reprisor) and the family of the late Tom Atkenson as well as Larry abd Cherryl Battson of Wildlife Educational Services bringing a few animals that are not native to this region. Movies, seminars, and wildlife knowledge programs were the order of the day as well as see thousands upon thousands of wildlife living free and without harm by we hunters.
