Today at the Refuge the Rangers conducted a bird identification program for the youth of the area along with some adult "birders". Of interest this day was Nougat (Crane 18-11) and Lamington (Crane 16-11) who came to the Refuge yesterday. These two immature Whooping Cranes flew in from Wisconsin with a flock of Sandhill Cranes. Many of the photos from today's offering of Observation Building Pond area has these two birds within them. Unfortunately they never got close enough to get a real details image of them.
