While waiting for the Fall wildlife to arrive, a person can find real beauty by walking the service roads on the North side of the Refuge. The late Summer Flowers are in bloom, the many species of butterflies are out with another hatch in the formative stage. One interesting path-cross was a sick opossum which had a breed-specific disease and wobbled across the trail. Fortunately the animal is no longer with us and is sickly no more.
