A wet and overcast day with thousands of waterfowl moving about the area. Mallards, Shovelbills, Green Wing Teals, Pintails, and Hooded Mergansers were present as well as the Sandhill Cranes. The little male Hooded Mergansers were jockeying for the few females present today.....really a "hoot" watching this odd acting little duck (one can see a little of Daffy Duck in them.) As I retreated from the viewing area, a very inquisitive chipmonk observed my movements.
