Today was a cloudy and mild day. In the upper pond a Great Blue Heron waited for a meal until spooked. A Buckeye butterfly rest for a few final days.....BUT more importantly this afternoon the Refuge hoisted a Child Survival workshop conducted by the North Alabama Search Dog Association to educate young boys and girls on what to do when lost in the woods and what people are are safe to seek assistance from if lost in a store or mall. A demonstration by search/cadaver dpgs was also conducted.
