Today heavy rains and wind all day. During the storm the eaglet remained on the limb it has been perched on since last Thursday. From time to time it would have to open his wings so it could balance on the limb. Finally the male adult flew in and got next to the eaglet and tried to block the wind from hammering the young bird. Pictured is the adult male Bald Eagle landing next to the young'n. With the rain, overcast, and wind....this was the best of the photos taken during the storm as I traveled past the nest. Interesting point on this family is that the male appears to do all the feeding and nest watching for the last several days. (The male is the eagle with the I.D. band on his leg.)
