Transient Brown Pelicans. These six birds spent some of the day in front of BeauxPoint resting in the sloughs of a near-by island, late in the evening I noticed their take-off and flight Northeast towards the Wheeler Refuge area of the State. Most likely they will stay for a bit there until they decide to go to the Atlantic Coast or back to the Gulf Coast. The birds were extremely high as they soared and the 18-200mm was stretched to it's limits since that was all the lense I in the front yard waiting on the sunset. But you hunt and shoot with what you got.....as the ole saying goes "f8,125 and pray"!
