The Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge is split by the Tennessee River, and as such travelers wander through it as they head up-river. The days of cruising have changed from when I was a kid. We never put on foul weather covers during the Summer unless their was a major blow in the weather. Of course we did not have onboard air conditions to service the "open areas" topside on the flying bridge.
