Mark Reiss has been a member of BCHW since approximately 1989. He has belonged to Pierce County Chapter, Enumclaw Chapter, Tahoma Chapter and Wenas Valley Chapter. He has put in many, many hours and I know there is no way he could have possibly counted them all. When he sees an unsafe area on a trail, he ties his horse up and takes care of it. In minutes or hours, it gets taken care of. This happens every single time he goes out, not just once in a while. He is a regular on our yearly work parties at Pleasant Valley Loop trail and Wildcat. We look to him as one of the staples to our work parties for his knowledge, enthusiasm and leadership. He has been a part of the Pleasant Valley Loop Trail, Wildcat, Goat Hole and Crystal Mountain Tri-Chapter work parties for years. These are only the work parties that I know about – I’m sure there are more.
I think that Mark is very deserving of recognition by BCHW of his hard work and dedication to our mission statement. Mark is one of the “inner core” people that make this organization what it is today.
