The cemetery St. Marx (Sankt Marxer Friedhof) is a cemetery in the Landstraße district of Vienna, used from 1784 until 1874.

The cemetery was closed in 1874 and is now a listed building. The most famous grave in this cemetery is that of the composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The City of Vienna maintains the St. Marx Cemetery as a publicly accessible park.

Besides Wolfgang Mozart, many other famous people are buried in this cemetery, although they are unknown to most people (see the large map of the honorary graves).

A personal note: If the grave of the great musician Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart weren't there, I believe the old Biedermeier cemetery would no longer exist (see the aerial photograph I took several years ago while approaching Schwechat Airport). The highway would cut off the route through the St. Marx Cemetery

The honorary graves at the St. Marx Cemetery are not so easy to find - except for Mozart's grave - because there are no orientation signs like in the municipal cemeteries.
