Map Rock is reputed to be one of the oldest petroglyph sites in North America. It is said to be 12,000 years old. It is located near Melba, Idaho on the north back of the Snake River.

One image looks out over the Snake River from behind Map Rock. Notice that there are no petroglyphs on the side of the rock facing away from the river.
