The Dahlenburg Bridge is named for Sweet Home High School Building and Trades teacher Ben Dahlenburg. His students, who built this bridge, named it in his honor. Under Dahlenburg's tutelage high school students restored the Weddle Covered Bridge located only about 150 feet away from this one. It also crosses Ames Creek. Both bridges are located out behind Sweet Home High School. The students also built another smaller miniature walking covered bridge in town called the Whittmore Covered Bridge.
