Doggie Doors

From the very earliest conception of what the house might be like, I had the idea of sets of three doors to repeat the appearance of the Services Cupboard doors up at the front gate. The Carport was to have had a cupboard at the back, but the plans for the carport have been ditched. These doors under the kitchen window will open onto the deck. Originally the plan was to have the three doors for three rubbish bins (thought up long before Nillumbik had the "three bin" system). Since then the kitchen layout has evolved, and that purpose no longer fits in. We will probably install a "dog door" in the left door, and that notion has given this feature its name. 24-12-2004
