Hansi meets the Fisheye

I am back from a break during which we had extremely dry weather with humidity as low as 4%.
Combined with high winds this made for dangerous fire conditions. And of course fires broke out, or were set.
First north of us, then several fires nearer, the largest of which burned over 6,000 acres near the Mexican Border.
Fortunately this fire moved away from us and got no closer that 20 miles, but the air quality was unhealthy for several days.
The fires are becoming more unpredictable. Areas that were never or rarely affected are now considered dangerous.
It is more difficult and expensive to get homeowners insurance. The worst part of all this is that almost all wildfires are arson.

The fisheye effect makes this a very eye catching image. Stellar detail and close up clarity. Also I hope you will not be directly affected by any of the numerous fires I see on the news. Please stay safe my friend. VV

Sorry to learn you were so close to the terrible fires !Hope the quality of the air is not too bad and dangerous for your health !

The coverage of the drama by the media has been important here in France, but I do not know the origin of the fires and do not know if an investigation is underway... this part of the events ceased to be reported here after a week...

Anyway, glad to see you back and to see tjhat Hansi looks good.

A cute fisheye portrait.
Yes, extremely sad and scary to see the dangerous fires in the South lands.
Glad, you are safe.

a potent image rife with a sense of alarm...curious that local terrorism coincides with national electoral disaster...extremists/madmen are on the rampage these days..

Great shot of Hansi, Walter. The wildfires have been horrendous and so many people are now homeless. What kind of people do that to others, I will never understand..V

Great photo to bring a smile - your caption, well not so much. What times we live in.

Such a fun image of Hansi who appears to be intensely curious about either the fisheye or something else. The fires are horrendous, and while we get some news here I hadn't heard of the one near the Mexican border. The sheer number of acres consumed, the loss of life, the loss of homes, is enormous. To think most fires were set by arsons is beyond belief. Stay safe.
