Deb's clarinet has been of great interest to Ellie lately as visit by the Music for Schools Foundation was planned to visit the school yesterday. Children queued for what seemed like an age with their parents to have a go on the various woodwind and brass instruments. It was a close call between the flute and the clarinet... The clarinet won. Question is do we buy Ellie a brand new instrument or do we let her take Deb's much loved Boosey & Hawkes??

Not only a great photographic model but a musician too! You have a multi-talented wife there Ian. Oh yes great b&w shot as well.

Nice shot Ian. You're getting quite the b/w master.
Why not buy Ellie a second hand one? Or is that so....

This one time, in band camp.....

Seriously, nice shot, Ian!

Lovely image.
Unsolicited parental advice follows: Don't add the pressure of preserving a treasured instrument to the normal pressures of learning.

Much better to learn on a good instrument than on cheap piece of junk. Great shot BTW!

Played the flute when I was a girl..not enough wind for the clarinet so they said...what a beautiful capture of such a fine instrument.

I suppose that the answer will have to be decided by Deb...personally only if it will be well taken care of.

What? Let a terrorist loose on this lovely thing?
