We're still in the kitchen for today's PotD. (Not a tomato in sight - sigh!) This is a very familiar sight here at Chappell Towers, garlic tends be included in almost everything we cook. However I like to chop and Deb likes to press... I don't mind either way really but have you ever tried to clean one of these press things??

Fantastic image!

That clove is making my mouth water... and I vote to make presses illegal. Great image.

Ian, great shot. Love the arrangement and selective focus. My husband swears by chopping (and not because of the cleaning of the press either, which I know is a pain). I often just buy the chopped stuff in a jar. I'm just not enough of a gourmet cook I guess :) Best Regards, Franziska.

No problem, Mark, Ian or anyone else! Maybe I should get out some garlic and my press and try. Then I will probably realise that I'll have to eat humble pie!

Respectfully disagree. !!

Oh...I just read the comments and must disagree, respectably, with Ray. The press completes this shot. It creates the sense of depth and makes the clove stand out.

Very, very nice shot Ian. Lighting, composition, focus, subject matter, excellent. I am always envious...of people who can cook... :)

Garlic!!! Mmmm I can almost smell and taste it. Nice crisp shot. -- angela :)

A fine shot, but the press I find a distraction. You've set yourself such high standards now, Ian, so you'll have to endure the odd bit of stick, sorreeee! How many galleries do you now have in the Popular Galleries? Three, I think!

Awwww, just buy garlic powder! LOL!

Ian, actually I was expecting a tomatoe shot from you today...not disappointed however, this is perfect!

Perfect shot, Ian! Nice lighting over the garlic, too.
We have garlic in almost every meal, as well - I feel sorry for my patients if I have to examine their eyes or ears! We tend to chop our garlic, as the drawer where the garlic press is stored is also the same drawer for the tin opener - a Pavlov's dogs effect takes place, resulting in our cat thinking it's feeding time, and she circles around my feet and generally gets in my way! I must nip that one in the bud!!

Oh and I'm a chopper myself - same reason as you - pressing is so mucky!

Another absolute corker! Your run of wonderful pics is still in full flow!
