Balsa is a raft made from bamboo. It is used as a means of transport and as a home to some families. The annual balsa festival was held last Sunday May 17,2006 at Matabungkay beach in Batangas. There was streetdancing, a balsa race, and a balsa decor competition. Despite the heat of summer, a lot of people, mostly locals, came to watch and enjoy this colorful event.
