Corcovado National Park, Costa Rica

Drake Bay is on the Osa Peninsula on the Pacific side of the country, in the far southwest, near the border with Panama and adjacent to Corcovado National Park. We stayed at La Paloma Lodge, one of Costa Rica's finest ecolodges. Getting to La Paloma from San Jose involves a flight to a tiny airstrip, a bumpy "taxi" ride over several miles of dirt road, and a short ride on a boat to which one wades in order to board (a "wet landing").
