2012 Days 01 to 06: Hobart And Surrounds, Tasmania, Days 01 to 06 (Mon 10 to Sat 15 Dec 2012)

Hobart is the capital of the island state of Tasmania. It sits on the Derwent River in the south east of the state. The population is pushing toward a quarter of a million people, but it's being held back by the fact that Tasmania is economically one of the weakest states.

Having been there only once (in the summer of 2012, in an attempt to escape the Sydney summer heat), we've barely scratched the surface of the place.
