There are large display screens at either end of the stadium. Even if you are sitting right under one of them, they are large enough and clear enough for the one at the other end of the field to be visible.
As you can see, the display quality is incredibly high.
When I started shooting this series of photos, the displays showed some of the AC Milan fans. Being as unbiased and agenda free as an average Australian Broadcasting Corporation program, I decided to wait until something more... "suitable"... made an appearance on screen.
Specifically, our midfielder Edoardo Bove, #52. Bove is still young, having turned 22 years old only a couple of weeks before the match. Better still, he is a native born Roman. And even better than that, he's a bloody good player.
He started 18 times in the 31 matches that he played, for a total of 1,776 minutes played this year. He didn't score any goals (which is not technically his job), but had two assists.
In December 2023 his contract was extended to 2028 but I've seen reports that he may be for sale at the right price. I hope not, because we are severely lacking a combination of "young" and "good", and when you throw "home grown" into the mix he's someone who I hope stays around to help get us where we need to be. And that is NOT contesting 6th place.
This is what former coach Jose Mourinho said about Bove, the "sick dog" name having stuck with some fans (though I think this may have been a slight mistranslation on Mourinho's part):
"...I hope people understand me when I say this with all the love in the world, I call Bove a sick dog, because he bites, he nips at your heels, he works, he is intelligent, is learning and makes me so happy."
No argument from me.
