Seeing flyers for missing pets is relatively common.
Seeing flyers for found ones, less so.
Still, as I was continuing back down Via Benedetto Marcello on my return to the hotel, I saw this traffic light signal box as I approached Via Vitruvio. On the box I saw this flyer. Allow me to translate:
"I found this male cat on 1 September, if you recognise him call me on..."
It's very cool that someone would make the effort to do this. I do wonder whether kitty ever made his way home. I suppose I could call the number and find out, but that would be a bit weird.
"Hey, remember that cat you found back in September of 2016?"
"What? Who is this?"
Yeeeah, no, especially after 6 and a half years, which is when I've finally gotten around to processing the photos from this walk. I've obscured the last few digits in the unlikely event that anyone else gets the same idea and can't resist. It's unlikely since my galleries are only viewed by classy people, but it's still a public gallery.
But yes, I AM curious. (As, probably, was kitty, which landed him in this situation in the first place.)
Posters are often affixed to this signal box but clearly they are regularly cleaned off as I can see by looking at the street history in Street View. This flyer slotted in between Google's visits, so this shot is quite possibly the only reminder that this ever happened after all these years.
