220402_063955_0001 5 Days (Sat 02 Apr 22)

Thirroul Beach Reserve

5 days. I downloaded the Bureau of Meteorology's data file yesterday, and found that there were 5 days in March without rain, and some of those numbers were HUUUUUGE. 5 out of 31. Mind you, the BOM predicted rainfall for this morning and got it WRONG, denying me the opportunity to get out and get some exercise again for the first time in too long.

Tomorrow is predicted to be the start of a 3 day spell of sunny, dry weather before the rains return {teeth grind, teeth grind} on Wednesday. This shot of dawn beginning to break behind the cycle path alongside Thirroul Beach Reserve (with some patches of blue in the sky, no less!) is the metaphor for a light at the end of the tunnel.

Unfortunately I failed to notice something; there was a sodium light behind me and to my left, creating a bitchingly black silhouette of me, the tripod and the camera on the right. I cropped most of it out in converting it to a square format but unfortunately in doing so lost some cool bending of the trees on the right from the fisheye lens.

(Speaking of which, I once said that the fisheye was a niche lens; scrap that. I'm finding it to be perfect for a lot of the standard photography that I do.)

Well, it is good to be out without rain for a change.

The fisheye is a great lens to use and I use it often. I like the night capture. It is kind of eerie. V

You must have got our weather by mistake and vice versa. We've had an unusually dry, sunny and actually warm March, although it has turned colder these past few days with some welcome showers.
