Un tableau vivant, pardon my French (no, literally) is "a 'living picture', ... a static scene containing one or more actors or models. They are stationary and silent, usually in costume, carefully posed, with props and/or scenery..."
That's not the way we do it in The 'Gong. (Wollongong, for the uninitiated.) On the (recently rare) sunny mornings along the beach, you will see people walking, people exercising (in the centre a pair of women are doing some boxercise), walking their dogs (which is a bit naughty in this case because Coledale is actually a timed ON LEASH beach), or catching a wave on a surfboard (but you would need to look closely to see it in the reduced size image).
The fisheye lens probably wasn't the ideal lens to capture all of this, but (a) it was all I had, since I was here to exercise and wasn't lugging a full kit and (b) the way people are spaced out you'd be hard pressed to get a "tableau" regardless of lens. In any case, down in these parts it's about movement, not stillness.
And tomorrow... the rain, the bleeping rain returns. 20-30mm. 70-110mm on Thursday. 30-55mm on Friday. 8-15mm on Saturday. Insert a string of expletives here.
