In an earlier shot in this gallery I described the general layout of the Port of Naples. Specifically, how it sweeps up the coast to the north west, curves around providing space for the main passenger terminals, then heads south west.
On the first leg (the eastern side) are the cargo docks of the Avamporto di Levante (the appropriately named "eastern outer port") that we see here. In a nice piece of serendipity, I caught the seagull with its wings up just as the arms of the cranes are.
In the background we can see the lower slopes of Vesuvius.
