Although we can see monolithic cruise ships in the background like the one in the previous image, the one front and centre in this one is unlikely to cause many problems for the locals.
This is the Star Clipper, a 4 masted barquentine. That is, a sailing ship which has at least 3 masts, the first of which is square rigged and the remaining rigged fore and aft. I could know what that meant if I wanted to, but I don't. (Yes, yes, I know; the sails on the front go from left to right, the other ones go from front to back.
It is not, in fact, a historic ship but was built in only 1990; the first clipper ship of this class to have been built since 1912. She is, in fact, a luxury yacht with a capacity of 170 passengers.
Luxury or not, I think I'll pass. Still, she looks the business and I'm sure that the passengers will experience plenty of comfort right up until a monster storm arrives. Or an iceberg. Or something.
The ship is registered in Malta.
