When you think Venice, you think St Marks. The piazza, the church, the tower. Even if you can't describe them you probably know the name. It's almost as if the rest of Venice doesn't exist at times because all of the magical aura of the place seems to be wrapped up in that one essential component of it.

And finally, we are within sight of it. One of the key moments of the holiday that was long planned but shortly experienced and, as I type this, is receding into history far too rapidly.

However when the shutter was pressed at this one instant of time, the San Marco Campanile (belltower) was right there in the viewfinder.
