As with many historic cities, you can get a ride from one place to another in a horse-drawn carriage. It's not an opportunity that we took advantage of, but if I had a little more time, oh yes, always "if I had a little more time", it's certainly something that I wouldn't have minded doing.
In a relatively tranquil city like Firenze, the horses have a much easier time of things than they would in a more crowded, traffic rich city, and certainly these ones seem to be well cared for.
In this shot we see one of them enjoying a little early lunch, doubtless well-earned and well deserved.
