It appears that there is a bit of a lumber industry in this area as well. I doubt that it's large-scale; I did not see large areas of hillside denuded of trees. In fact, the hillsides do not normally contain vast forests.
But clearly there is a supply of wood somewhere as this harvest suggests. It's not clear what happens to this wood; whether it is used by (for example) how furniture manufacturer that we saw a few images back or whether it is shipped off rather industrial processes such as the manufacture of paper.
I would say that some of that does make its way out of the region, and we will see why and a shot or two.
