Actually, I'm assuming that. It's likely that the names that are scattered amongst the vineyards signify the owner or label of the wines produced there. It's of course entirely possible that those vines along to someone other than the residents of this house. But it's equally possible – indeed more probable – that this is in fact the owners' residence.
It's certainly a place where you could get some peace and quiet.
A lot of Italy is hilly, and obviously people have a lot of experience in maximising the land available. Here, just as in Cinque Terre, that means making abundant use of terraces as we see here.
