In addition to eateries, this lane is, and has been for 14 years, the home of a late night music scene.

One such place is the Cherry Bar. Our tour guide described it as "a bit of a dive, but it is what it is". And if it's been running for 14 years, it's clearly doing something right.

This painting is of the owner, I'm told. And after visiting the bar's Faceplant page I can confirm that this looks very much like a guy who appears in a lot of the pictures there, often decked out in a big cowboy hat. (Not the red Elvisian jumpsuit, thankfully.)

The twin cherries are the bar's logo, and not anything, um, untoward.

Interestingly the bar recently received its (first ever) complaint from a new local resident about the noise.

Wow do I love people who move in next to bars, airports, amusement parks, etcetera which have been there for years if not decades and suddenly find that the noise of these places that they chose to move to bothers them.
