100302_124658_5948 You Can't Be Sirius!

Darling Harbour, NSW

OK, dreadful pun. The original intention of the shot was to get the Sydney Harbour ferry Sirius (First Fleet class, 83 tonnes, 24.85 metres, 12 knots) majestically powering away from Pyrmont Bay Wharf.

Unfortunately the light really didn't do her justice (it was lunch time, it was a long shot anyway), but when I opened the shot up to full size I found a couple of what we may call "candid Easter eggs".

Up in the bow Cap'n Canon stands dynamically and commandingly, on the lookout for the Great White Photo Op.

Cap'n Canon: "Arrr, there be photos to be had upon these seas, I feel it in me bones! Can ye not see them out there?"
Cap'n Canon's companion: "Yes, dear. When's lunch?"

(Not that I'm taking the Michael too much here, since I probably look like that myself through the greater part of my lunch times if you disregard the shades, substitute a business shirt for the T-shirt, and omit the pulchritudinous female companion. And not that I can be 100% certain that he's holding a Canon, but zooming way, way in it does look like the camera's strap sports the traditional black, white and red colour scheme of we Canonistas.)

Further back, one of the more seasoned and colourful members of the voyage attempts to give an animated illustration of... I have no idea what... to one of the less seasoned and, one may say, slightly embarrassed-looking voyagers.
