Night Visitors at Bush Camp

Tropic of Capricorn, Australia

I'll leave it to an expert to tell me if these are Ring-Tailed or Brush-Tailed Possums.
They seem to have some characteristics of both, for the northern climate of Australia.
(I don't see the white tip on the apparently prehensile tail, nor the 'syndactyly' forefeet)
What I do know is that once the first "food parcel" arrived - a moist fruit cake cooked by
my mother - it was impossible to keep my bush friends from paying late night visits.
After several nights, I was able to lay awake, focus pre-set and flash at the ready,
for the inevitable visit. What a surprise for me that night, when the visitor had
carried a baby in for a treat.
