All the pictures in this gallery were created by Professor C.C. Davis who uses a period and authentic camera and techniques. These pictures are either glass types or tin types. They are absolutly 100 percent authentic in that they use the exact same technology, process, chemicals and exposure as pictures from the 1860's. you will notice some objects are blurred, the pictures have a 5-7 second exsposure time, so if anyone moves, they are blured. You may also note some things are backwards, many times the period pictures are like this as they did not flip the images. The NCO picture suffered a cracked negative so thats where the lines and black are from, very period as well. You may also note that very few people are looking at the camera, that was a no-no back in the day so only a few people in each photo are allowed to do it.

Just to make clear, these ARE NOT authentic photos, but modern photos using the same techniques and equipment as those used during the Civil War (1860's).
