When you get about 20" of rain in a 32 hour span,
the earth literally changes before your eyes. In
places that have remained dry for your blip of a
life you find lakes. Homes always viewed as safe
from flooding are overtaken with rising water and
even completely swept away with lifelong memories
in tow. Places that have provided peaceful walks
and family hikes turn into moving violent torrents
of mud, rock and trees when overwhelmed by huge
amounts or moisture separating soil from rock with
a viscous layer.
