As I shot pictures of these cows nibbling on vegetation floating in the clear, cold waters of the Vrlika, a man began to shout at me. He was yelling at me to stop taking pictures of the cows. I asked him calmly if they were his cows and he yelled back that they weren't. Since I didn't want to appear culturally inferior to this man, I began to shout back at him. My Croatian is not perfect, but I can swear with the best. Onlookers, of whom there were several, stopped and began to stare at us. We kept up the shouting of insults for a minute or two, then he walked off.
