That's the hat-head I wrote for this picture for the newspaper I work for. But some copy editor who doesn't understand me changed it to "walk softly and carry a big line." Is that funny? I don't think it is. I know it's a line, not a 'big rope.' Could the copy editors please give the reader a little credit? When did it become against the law to be funny in a newspaper?
