The Stellar Jays are here most of the year then disappear in the spring.
When the hazelnuts are getting ripe they come back with their offspring.
They can be loud or stealthy quiet while sealing nuts and are fun to watch.
In the winter they haunt the hedges looking for the nuts they hid in better times.
If the snow gets deep enough a little help is nice.
